Setting Standards

A brief history of our accomplishments will give you a sampling of the kinds of materials you'll work with and the kinds of solutions you'll drive.

In 1963 Exotic pioneered an innovative axial-load bulge forming technique that remains the standard bearer today. Today we are a major contributor to every model of Boeing airplane currently in production. The range of applications served includes sophisticated hardware associated with the Environmental Control, Engine Build-up, Anti-icing and APU Exhaust Systems; Plugs and Nozzles for the primary engines; doorway Scuff Plates; and plumbing for Vacuum Waste Systems.

We have successfully applied our multiple capabilities and forming techniques to the majority of the super alloys including Titanium alloys, Beta 21S, 15-3-3-3, 6AL-4V, 3AI-2.5V, A40, A55 and A70; Nickel Alloys 718, 625 and 600; Haynes 230 and 188; Hastalloy; and Columbium, Waspalloy, and 300/400 series stainless steel.

In addition to the entire Boeing family of commercial aircraft, these technologies are incorporated in various other programs throughout the industry including the Apache, Trent 800, V-22, F117, F119, and F135 exhaust systems. Air supply ducting systems are supplied to the F117, PW4168, PW4000, PW6000, F135, EADS A400M, and Airbus A380. Flexible pneumatic ducting systems incorporating various types and degrees of ball, socket, and gimbal joints are supplied to the A330/A340, PW6000, and PWC307A. Vacuum waste systems are supplied for the A300 and A320 programs, the Gulfstream GIV and GV, the Embracer ERJ 170/190, and the RRJ.

Our success is driven, in large part, by our BEST guiding principles:

Why Exotic

Own the process and the results -- if you are ready to break out of the compartmentalized model and drive projects as if you were running your own "company within a company," this may be the position for you. You'll wear a different hat each day, and on some days more than one. You'll be able to take advantage of a strong entrepreneurial spirit that flows through the entire organization.

Engineering at the core -- as a technical company, engineering is an essential part of everything we do at Exotic Metals, including playing a key role in our strategic planning processes. You'll work with a peer group of intelligent and talented people who share your inspiration for solving intriguing and complex challenges.

Award-winning team -- you will become part of something special, helping drive the success that maintains our position as a world leader in the manufacture of sophisticated sheet metal fabrications. But don't just take our word for it! We consistently earn accolades from our industry for years. For example, Boeing has named us "Supplier of the Year" five times. In 2010 we earned the following awards:
  • Boeing Performance Excellence Award Winner for 2010.
  • United Technologies Corporation Gold Supplier Award for 2010.
  • Gulfstream Supplier of the Year for 2009.
  • Aircelle Overall Performance Award Winner for 2009.
Building on this success we are pursuing growth initiatives and expect to expand our team significantly over the next couple of years. That growth will create opportunities for proven players.

Unique culture -- working at Exotic is really about being part of a team, a culture, something that is bigger than each of us individually. The fact that a small group of people passionately committed to a common goal can accomplish what we have to date is truly remarkable. That is why we're so proud of the 700-plus individuals in our Exotic family who strive to be the best at what they do every day, working as a collaborative team to stretch the bounds of creative thinking and provide quality products to our customers around the globe.

Excellent compensation -- we offer a competitive total compensation package that includes all you would expect plus some pleasant surprises. For example, we offer a discretionary profit sharing bonus program; while it is not guaranteed, this amount can be a significant adder to each employee's salary each year. We also offer flexible spending accounts, a generous company contribution to the 401(k) plan, and more.

Keys to Success

Your technical expertise will be essential, but just as important will be your "emotional intelligence." To succeed in our culture you must have confidence in your ability to make a difference at each and every point in a project -- you need to be the kind of person who makes things happen, an active participant in driving solutions. This is a broad role and we won't expect you to be an expert in every aspect of your projects; however, we will expect you to know when to ask questions, what kinds of questions to ask, and how to pull together the resources and experts to get the answers you need.
